Phone Forwarding

SDSU campus numbers can be forwarded to off-campus or other campus numbers. To activate this feature, submit a request in the ServiceNow Service Portal: Go to "Request University IT Services", then under "Categories" select "Voice Communications".

External Call Forwarding - Requires an IT Division Work Order

A Call List is a pre-programmed feature where you supply the number that you want to forward calls to and you have the ability to activate and deactivate the feature.

Activate and deactivate call forwarding from your campus telephone.

Activate call forward: From your desk phone dial: * 1 0 # (must be at campus physical phone)

Cancel call forward: From your desk phone dial: # 1 0 # (must be at campus physical phone)

If you want to cancel the call forward you must cancel at your campus desk phone. If you can’t get to your desk phone or need to change the number to forward your calls to email [email protected].

IT Division will only forward campus extension to domestic USA number (no international).

Voicemail

From your office phone:
  1. Dial 4-7444
  2. Enter your personal security code
From another campus phone:
  1. Dial 4-7444 (if prompted for security code, press *)
  2. Then press '#'
  3. Enter your five-digit extension
  4. Enter your personal Security code
From off campus:
  1. Dial 619 594-7444
  2. Press '#'
  3. Enter your five-digit extension
  4. Enter your personal security code

Managing SDSU Voicemail using Web PhoneManager (WPM)

  • Log-in by entering your mailbox number (i.e., the last 5-digit of your campus phone number) If you do not know your mailbox extension, call ETS Business at 619-594-3500 for assistance.
  • Enter your security code
    • If you cannot remember your security code, select “Forgot Security Code” link.
    • Enter your “Mailbox” number or your campus “E-mail Address”
    • You will receive an error message if your e-mail address does not match our Campus Directory records (you must use a campus E-mail address). Contact ETS Business at 619-594-3500 to update your E-mail information, if you receive an error.
  • An online tutorial is provided to guide you through all features.
    • Go to “User Resources” link and select “Web PhoneManager Online Tutorial”.
    • You can either listen to the entire presentation or select from the options to learn about a specific features.
