    CIO Times Names James Frazee as a Rising Educational Leader

    The CIO Times has named James Frazee, interim vice president for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, a top five rising leader in education to follow in 2024.

    SDSU was recognized by the San Diego Business Journal for its innovative workforce development partnership, formed between its Cyber Security and Intelligence Student Club and Haiku.

    Outstanding Staff of 2021-22 Saluted

    Six individuals and a team of five were recognized with Presidential Staff Excellence Awards as part of an annual honor for outstanding contributions and efforts in support of the university, the community and fellow employees. In addition, the second annual Staff Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed upon James Frazee, deputy chief information officer and senior associate vice president in the Information Technology Division.

    Summer Institute for Flex Instruction Draws Plaudits

    EDUCAUSE spotlighted SDSU’s Flexible Course Design Summer Institute (Flex-CDI) as an exemplar for technology use in its national 2020 Student Technology Report. Flex-CDI helped 894 faculty members enhance their skills and knowledge of teaching in the online environment.

    San Diego State University’s Virtual Immersive Teaching and Learning (VITaL) team received the Gold Award in the category of “Technology Supporting Innovation in Teaching and Research” at the Cal State Tech Conference earlier this month in Sacramento.

    San Diego State University’s academic technology chief was among 30 “transformers and trailblazers” recognized this year by the Center for Digital Education. James Frazee, director of Instructional Technology Services (ITS), received the award for “improving the learning environment through effective implementation of technology rich solutions…that have impact on student outcomes.”
