ACCESS
What is ACCESS?
ACCESS (Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services & Support) is a National Science Foundation (NSF) project designed to deliver scalable, secure, and user-friendly cyberinfrastructure services that support the needs of diverse research communities. Through ACCESS, users can access high-performance computing (HPC) systems, storage, and advanced software tools regardless of discipline. SDSU faculty and students are eligible to apply for ACCESS allocations, allowing them to request computing time and storage on NSF-funded advanced computing resources to support their research projects. More information and application details can be found on the website: https://www.access-ci.org

How Do I Get It?
ACCESS Allocations Overview:
ACCESS is completely free for users, but proposals must be submitted and approved to receive resources.
San Diego State University (SDSU) does not manage ACCESS allocations or associated costs. However, SDSU faculty, staff, students, and research labs are eligible to apply for allocations directly through the ACCESS portal.
ACCESS offers several allocation tiers to support a range of research and educational needs:
- Explore - For new users or testing software; small, quickly approved allocations.
- Discover - For small to moderate research projects; requires a simplified proposal.
- Accelerate - For classroom and training use; supports instructional activities.
- Maximize - For large-scale or long-term projects; requires a competitive, peer-reviewed proposal.
