What is Virtru?
Virtru is a data-centric security platform that enables organizations to protect sensitive information shared via email, files, and SaaS applications. Built on the open Trusted Data Format (TDF) standard, Virtru offers end-to-end encryption, granular access controls, and persistent data protection that travels with the data, regardless of where it is stored or shared. Key features include attribute-based access control (ABAC), the ability to revoke or expire access to shared content, and detailed audit logs for compliance. At SDSU, Virtru is integrated with Google Workspaces and is intended for projects with high compliance requirements, including those involving Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
